What do you mean? Were there fewer or more before? I now that mods will come through and clean up the page every so often. Posts with broken links get removed, duplicate posts, etc. Stuff that's just comments gets cleaned up or moved to the discussion thread. All the active content should still be here.

Hmm. Probably just a layout thing then. They changed layout on the front page recently. Changing the layout inside the threads to have fewer posts per page could make the same number of posts appear on more pages (and also save some bandwidth in the process).
