It's not just like that because the people posting it want a bit like number. Hiding it behind a wall like that prevents bots from scraping the site and taking down folders immediately. It's especially important on popular models like this.

The trouble is that once you like the post, the like button disappears. Then if you reload the page the text “You must click 'Like' before you can see the hidden data contained here” is displayed, but the like button is gone so you can’t see the content anymore.

yeah but now there is no like button so I can't see it. That make the post useless. I can't get to the links as the like button has gone now and won't come back

extremely annoying when you want to download the files from a different site that doesnt hinder the download speed

You are always able to unlike then re-like a post, it's how I have been able to bypass the issue you have been having. It might take resetting the page after unliking the post but it should work 95% of the time.
