According to reports, WWE asked him a while back if he would pass down his gimmick and cobra clutch to Lacey, and he vehemently said no. The other week when Lacey came out with the drill sergeant hat similar to what Slaughter used to wear his daughter wrote on Twitter talking about how she didn't appreciate Lacey ripping off her dad's gimmick and this led to Lacey tweeting back with some harsh words. Slaughter tweeted in support of his daughter and finds it disrespectful that she didn't ask him before she started using the Cobra Clutch.
While I'm not a Lacey fan I find that the way Slaughter is acting is making him come off as a mark for himself and it's pretty funny he is so mad about her "stealing" his gimmick when he was never really a part of the military to begin with, at least Lacey can actually say she has those credentials.
